Remember that Game of Thrones MMORPG, Game of Thrones: Seven Kingdoms, that Bigpoint announced in 2012? Remember how we all thought it was silently canceled after it missed its estimated 2013 release date?
Today, we discover that it was not, in fact, canceled. A Reddit user discovered that Bigpoint confirmed earlier today that the title is still in development. Moreover, the company is hopeful that we will hear more about the game "very soon."
Are you still hyped about the possibility of a Game of Thrones MMO being released?

Daybreak Games announced yesterday that Jack Emmert, co-founder and CEO of Cryptic Studios will now be heading their Austin Studio as CEO. Daybreak’s Austin Studio is responsible for DC Universe Online and will be part of Emmerts new responsibilities as its new head, along with the development of future titles. In a brief Q&A with Daybreak, Emmert is asked about his connection with DCUO and his thoughts on being a Daybreaker, he writes:
Naturally, DCUO is near and dear to me. I’ve been a fan of the game since it launched and having an opportunity to be on this team is truly amazing. And Daybreak, to me, is the godfather of the MMORPG industry. Without EverQuest, we never would have seen City of Heroes, World of Warcraft, or any of the other great MMOs that came out. Because of so many seminal games, Daybreak has an unparalleled community of fans who’ve loyally followed the company for years. There’s few places that an MMO developer can go that are so set up for success.
Check out the coming DCUO cosmic materials update in the video below or head on over to the Daybreak official website for the full Q&A and press release.
The third round of Closed Beta testing for the upcoming MMORPG Riders of Icarus has come to an end. This phase of testing featured many firsts for the game, the highlight of which was the removal of the NDA, allowing beta testers to freely stream the game and post content. Developers also implemented a non-targeted Action Mode and a sprint ability for ground mounts.
With the game’s final Closed Beta phase wrapped up, players are now looking forward to the game’s Open Beta launch on July 6th. Players who purchased Founder’s Packs will enjoy a 7-day head start along with exclusive mounts, a special in-game title, and a host of other special rewards and benefits. And, as a way of giving thanks, players who participated in the Closed Beta tests will receive collectible Dragon capes when Open Beta starts next month.
Saddle-up and watch the Riders of Icarus official gameplay trailer below or glide on over to the game’s official website for more info.
Kritika Online is a free to play action MMORPG published by Playpark in Southeast Asia. The core gameplay is similar to other instanced action MMORPGs like HeroWarz and Vindictus in that most of the combat takes place in instanced dungeons. Kritika Online originally launched in South Korea back in 2013, but hasn't released in the West as of this video. I had no problem logging into the Playpark version of the game, so it looks like they haven't blocked U.S. IP addresses. The combat felt visceral and fun, but the graphics and UI felt a bit dated.
E3 2016 is well under way and has been a mixed bag but I found a few gems to be excited for, as well as some fantastic cringe moments. Before delving into Microsoft's conference I wanted to point out Dual Universe which I am now excited for after watching its E3 trailer.
Of course who knows what the actual game will look like since the trailer was from a pre-alpha build. But a sandbox universe with seamless transitions between the planet's surface and space is incredible on paper.
I also wanted to point out these awesome hitboxes from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
What are you looking forward to from E3 2016. Let us know in the comments below!
Star Trek Online celebrates the summer with Risa’s annual Lohlunat Festival. This year, players joining in on the festivities will have a whole list of new rewards to look forward to, not the least of which is the new Tier 6 Vorgon Xyfius Heavy Escort ship which can be acquired in exchange for 2016 Lohlunat Prize Vouchers.
Aside from the new ship, players can also purchase a host of new items from the game’s Summer Event Store, in exchange for Lohlunat Favors, which can be earned by participating in the festival events. To gain access to the Event Store, players must first complete the “Unlock the Summer Event Prize Vendor” Event Reputation project. New additions to the store include: new vanity pets, powerboards, and, in keeping with the summer vibe, vintage-themed boardshorts, Aloha shirts, and swimwear. Of course, no summer island festival would be complete without cocktails which Risa’s bartenders would be more than happy to serve you.
Oh, and in case you haven’t heard Star Trek Online will be coming to the PS4 this fall. Check out the official announce trailer below or beam down to the game’s official website for details on the new summer rewards.

The 2D isometric horror MMORPG Darkeden is back. GamenGame announced the grand opening on June 8th, 2016 with service available everywhere except Germany, China, and South Korea. The game originally launched in South Korea back in 1997, making it one of the oldest graphical MMORPGs. Despite the current relaunch, Darkeden hasn't been too successful in the West as it was available through Joymax until it was shut down in 2011. Despite its age, Darkeden maintains a fairly healthy playerbase in South Korea.
Even though Darkeden is back, no word on a Western release date for Darkeden 2.
GamenGame also publishes Asda Global, Metal Reaper Online, Microvolts, Fishing Hero, Cronix Online, and several other F2P titles.
Of Kings and Men—previously known as Melee: Battlegrounds—is a game that is referred to by its creators not as an MMO, but as a "persistent medieval war." From the trailer below, it looks quite a lot like what I'd imagined a game like Clash of Clans might look like if it were a bit less casual—only with an actual character you control. Choose from "an abundance of different weapons." Take part in battles that support up to 200 players. Fight using "intuitive melee combat."
An assortment of multiplayer modes like Team Deathmatch and "Conquest" will be supported in addition to the persistent portion of the game, for those who want short, fast-paced matches.
Of Kings and Men is currently scheduled to hit Early Access in August 2016. You can find more information about the game on the official website.
Landmark is launching in two days, which means that it's just about time for the launch update. The final update being made to Landmark before launch introduces the Crimson Parlor and so many other additions and changes that the patch notes take up three whole forum posts.
In order to prepare for launch, the game servers have been wiped. Trailblazers can already get into the game now and play as much as they would like, but everyone else will have to wait until Friday. For those who have yet to purchase Landmark, it will be available for $9.99 when it launches on Friday.
