EA announced today that their latest, always-online addition to the Need For Speed franchise will be headed to PC on March 15th. Those dismayed by the game's initial absence on PC can rest easy, as the PC version is right around the corner and will feature much of what you've come to expect from quality PC ports.
Need For Speed PC will feature an unlocked framerate—you can get a taste of the 60 FPS action in the trailer below. Resolutions ranging up to 4K will be supported, although support for non-standard aspect ratios such as 21:9 has not been announced. Steering wheels and other peripherals will be supported due to community feedback. Another community-requested feature that will be present is Manual Transmission, allowing the utmost in control over your car. Manual Transmission will also be added to the console versions at a later date.
While Need For Speed will be hitting PC on March 15th, Origin Access subscribers will gain access to the game on March 10th.
Skyforge's March of Knowledge update has just launched. A new photo mode allows players to capture various moments of their adventures. Legendary Ancient Rings are new, powerful rings that give "unique statistical bonuses." The Laboratory is a new system that simplifies the process of developing resistances. A new player-driven campaign called the Astral Journey tasks players with fighting off Alien Invasions as part of a larger story.
The update also adds Skyforge's first set of Valentine's Day content. Two "Love Packs" can be purchased now, granting instant access to the Monk or Kinetic. Also included are unique costume colors for each class. Additionally, various zones in the game world feature Valentine's Day decorations, such as the floating hearts in the park pictured above.
There's not a game to be seen yet, but Funcom are eagerly showing off what they have of Conan Exiles in a new Developer Diary. In the developer diary, the team talks about the game and some of the tech they are planning on using in-game.
It all sounds pretty standard fare—only with the Conan license. You start in the desert, left for dead. You kill animals and collect resources. You build houses. You survive. When you're done surviving in the desert, you move on to different biomes.
It will be interesting to see if the fast-paced, gory combat ends up having a good feel to it. The footprint and sand tech is also nice. The question is whether it will all be enough to set the game apart in an increasingly crowded genre, given the fairly generic premise.

En Masse Entertainment announced today that they will be publishing C4M's tactical, competitive RTS Battleplans on PC and mobile later this spring. Battleplans is a different kind of RTS that "splits offensive battles and defensive planning into two distinct phases of the game." Players are tasked with laying siege to NPC or player-controlled territories that are then defended with "comprehensive defense strategies." An assortment of heroes and units are available to aid in accomplishing this goal.
The developers are already boasting "simple, intuitive controls" that allow ease of use and quick decision making. En Masse CEO Chris Lee stated that "Battleplans is a great strategy game for players interested in actually controlling the units they send into combat. It provides engaging gameplay but isn’t bogged down by micromanagement."
A Closed Beta for the PC version will be held later this month before launching on Android, iOS, and PC later this spring. You can sign up for access on the official website.
Blade and Soul's first major content patch, Rising Waters, is now live. The expansion challenges players to face the Blackram pirates once again in the new 4-player Bloodshade Harbor instance. Players who want more of a challenge can take on the 24-player version of the instance, Nightshade Harbor.
The first seven floors of another dungeon, Mushin's Tower, are now available. This is a single-player Heroic Dungeon that will require players to face more difficult challenges floor after floor for a chance at increasingly better rewards. You begin the tower by choosing an opponent from six different opponents, each with their own fighting style. If successful, you must then pick another opponent to face before moving on to the next floor. The full list of challenges can be found on the Rising Waters mini-site.
The first five Hongmoon Levels have also been added. These levels allow advancement beyond the current level cap of 45. Each Hongmoon Level will grant players more skill and stat points.
Warface is a free to play tactical shooter with a unique co-op element developed and published by Crytek - the same studio behind the popular Crytek game engine. The game launched in 2014 and is free to play on Steam. In the video above, I show off some of the traditional lobby based PvP gameplay which is similar to games like Alliance of Valiant Arms and Call of Duty. Warface is unique among free to play shooters because it features quite a few cooperative PvE missions.
The recently announced brutal survival game The Culling has opened closed Alpha sign-ups. Testing will begin some time later this month, and the game will release as an Early Access title through Steam on March 8th.
“Launching a Closed Alpha will allow the community to have an active role in The Culling’s development.” said Michael McMain, Founder and CEO of Xaviant. “The feedback gathered from the test will ensure that we are able to deliver the reliable and balanced experienced our players deserve.”
The Culling will cost $14.99, and the game will be 10% off between March 8th and March 14th.
Clearly inspired by Battle Royale and The Hunger Games, The Culling pits players against each other on a tropical island, where they must craft weapons and traps, and murder every other player to be the last one standing.
Besides H1Z1: King of the Hill, The Culling is one of the few survival games focusing solely on stylized bloodbaths. I'm curious as to which one will survive in the long-term.
I have to admit the trailer below is a ridiculous game show montage with enough self-aware charm to raise my interest. Stay tuned for MMOs.com's first impressions to find out more about The Culling.
It's no surprise that the titillating MMORPG Blade and Soul is celebrating Valentine's Day. Players can feel the love by collecting event items White Roses and Red Roses, and then transmute the flowers into a Brilliant Hongmoon Hexagonal Peridot or a Festival of the Hearts Gift.
But the real spirit of Valentines Day is to be found through sybaritic outfits, and Blade and Soul knows cosmetics. The Female Bundle for the holiday features an unbound white shirt, and tie dividing cleavage. While the Male Bundle features a 1980's Love Boy disco costume.
A variety of other costumes have also been added as part of the Hongmoon Store Update, including an appropriately timed Showgirl outfit.
