World of Warcraft Adds New Colorblind Support

In their latest patch of 6.1, World of Warcraft has enhanced their previous colorblind options. Within the new "Accessibility" interface, there is now a "Enable UI Colorblind Mode". This newer mode will offer neat quality of life improvements for those who are colorblind. While hovering over items, instead of just the names showing rarity based on color, the matching words will also pop up. This means that when you hover over an item and cannot tell if it is rare or epic based on the color, either "Rare" or "Epic" will popup on the tooltip for the item. Blizzard has also given three sets of colorblind filters in hopes of covering the majority of those afflicted with the condition.

World of Warcraft Twitter Integration

If there is any game that can get away with doing anything, it is Blizzard's juggernaut, World of Warcraft. Now going strong for over a decade, WoW has introduced many MMORPG features that have become staples, but their newest idea might be the strangest one yet. That's right, Blizzard is integrating Twitter within World of Warcraft. This feature is account-wide and lets you tweet at any point of gameplay. That means the next time you find some rare gear or defeat an exceptionally difficult enemy, you can now instantly tweet it out to the entire world (well at least to those who are following you). The Twitter integration is completely optional, so if you are not interested, you need not worry. Only time will tell if this feature will be a hit or not, but Blizzard looks optimistic about the merging social worlds. Check out the video below for a more detailed look.

Guild Wars 2 to Unveil Stronghold

As Heart of Thorns, the expansion for Guild Wars 2 comes closer every day, more and more bits of information are being revealed. The game mode Stronghold is a new form of PvP that ArenaNet is sure will please their fans. This mode is similar to the original Guild vs. Guild, but it also plays a bit like a MOBA game. There are various lanes and barracks that stand in your way of taking down the opponents' lord. Defeating the enemy lord will give you sweet victory, and losing yours will result in defeat. There will also be numerous NPCs that players can hire to help them out. While these NPCs are not as strong as player characters, they will be able to break down doors, rain volleys of arrows upon their enemies, and guard various areas. Which NPCs players choose and how they use them will be a major tactical part of Stronghold, and players should look forward to the exciting new game mode.
