Perfect World Shuts Down Wallet System

Perfect World has shut down its Wallet system on their Arc Games platform, effective immediately. For players with the ZEN currency still in Wallet, the money has been transferred directly to their Arc account balances. This shut down is due to a migration from the Wallet system to the currently existing Charge system. The staff at Arc guarantee that this will not affect anyone's ability to access Arc or any of their games, so players should have no cause for concern.

Elder Scroll Online Launches Crown Store

As The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited has finally launched after a sneak peek earlier this week, so does the Crown Store. The Crown Store is ESO's cash shop that has loads of goodies. The shop will offer mounts, pets, costumes, consumbles, various bundles, and possibly more in the future. As the launch is still fresh, there are a few kinks to work out, such as the "Buy Crowns" link on Mac clients not working. These will almost certainly be hammered out in the near future as Tamriel Unlimited gets more and more content. Now that ESO has switched to the B2P model, it will be interesting to see what else ZeniMax has planned for the future.

Star Citizen Shows off Social Module at SXSW

Star Citizen managed to show off their goods during a presentation at SXSW last weekend. For those who were unable to watch, there is a video montage now on the internet. One major part of the video is the social module system previously announced. In addition, there is a lot game footage that "showcases many of the experiences that will be available in Star Citizen's persistent universe." Check out the video below for some space goodness.

WildStar Explains the Ravaging of Arboria

The lore crafters at WildStar have released a quite impressive lore post explaining the Ravaging of Arboria. In contrast to the usual patch notice or game change announcement, it is refreshing to see a game that can also promote its game world. The story talks about the Dominion's attack on the Aurins and more. As there would be no value in spoiling the story, those who are interested should head there and read it themselves.

Console MMORPGs

The growth of MMOs and MMORPGs since the days of EverQuest and Ultima Online have been enormous. MMORPGs from World of Warcraft to Ragnarok Online have seen huge success and MOBAs like League of Legends and Dota 2 have exploded in popularity. But what about console MMORPGs? PC Gaming is a big industry, but console gaming in the U.S. is actually a much bigger industry. Why haven't MMORPGs penetrated the console market yet? Well they have, to a degree. The first game to do so in North America to my knowledge is EverQuest from Daybreak Game Company. They released a console version of the game called EverQuest Online Adventures for the PS2. Getting online with the PS2 was never easy, but with the PS3 and PS4, online gaming on consoles is much easier. Despite the advances in internet connectivity on consoles, there really aren't that many console MMORPGs, but there are some. If you're curious what they are, see the list below:

Console MMORPGs

Black Desert Online - Originally available on PC, Black Desert Online is now available on Xbox One and PS4.

Tera - the action MMORPG is available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The console versions are a bit behind in terms of patches, but get updated frequently.

Skyforge - A Russian developed Sci-Fi MMORPG by the same studio behind Allods Online.

Final Fantasy 14 - Square Enix's Final Fantasy MMORPG is available for PC, PS3, and PS4.

DC Universe Online - This superhero themed free to play MMORPG is available for PC, PS3, and PS4.

PlanetSide 2 - The sequel to the first Planetside game is available on PS4 as of mid 2015.

Elder Scrolls Online - Bethesda Softwork's Elder Scrolls MMO is truly multi-platform. Available on PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One.

Trove - A sandbox crafting MMORPG inspired by Minecraft, but with an emphasis on combat and progression. Gorgeous voxel graphics! Available on PS4 / Xbox One.

War Thunder - Available on PC, Mac, Linux, PS3, and PS4. Quite a few platforms for this World War 2 simulator.

World of Tanks - Wargaming's hugely successful tank MMO Is available on Xbox 360. It's launching on PS4 later in late 2015.

Defiance - The sci-fi themed MMORPG based on the Syfy series is available on PS3 and Xbox 360, and PC. It was originally intended for Xbox One / PS4 Release as well, but that was scrapped.

Star Trek Online - Cryptic's sci-fi Star Trek MMO is available on PS4 / Xbox One.

Diablo 3 - Blizzard's action MMORPG is available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4.

Warframe - An enormously successful sci-fi themed cooperative shooter. Available on PS4.

SMITE - Hi-Rez Studio's Smite is the first MOBA to launch on consoles.

Battleborn - Although not an "MMORPG", Battleborn is yet another MOBA that launched on consoles. It's available for both PC and console.

Paladins - a hero shooter similar to Overwatch developed by Hi-Rez Studios (makers of smite).

Neverwinter - Originally launched on the PC, Cryptic Sutido's Neverwinter launched on Xbox One to great success, quickly reaching over 2 million console users.

APB Reloaded - Originally launched as APB: All Points Bulletin, APB Reloaded is a free to play third person MMO shooter by K2 Networks (GamersFirst). It's available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Onigiri - Onigiri is a Japanese developed MMORPG from Cyberstep. It features fluid action combat and is available on both the Xbox One and the PS4.

Unfortunately games like League of Legends and DotA will likely never see console releases. Probably because these games were designed for a mouse+keyboard rather than a gamepad. This list will periodically be updated as more and more consoles MMOs are released. Several games have been announced, but until they launch in the U.S. they won't be included in this list.

Shut Down Games

Gigantic - This free to play MOBA from Motiga will launch on both PC and Xbox One. [Shut Down]

Paragon - This action MOBA from Epic Games will be available for both PC and console at launch. [Shut Down]

Blacklight: Retribution - A Sci-fi themed FPS game developed by Zombie originally and now by Hardsuit Labs. Available on PC as well as Playstation 4. [Shut Down]

EverQuest Next - The upcoming fantasy MMORPG from Daybreak Game Company. The game will be available on PC and Playstation 4. [Shut Down]

This list will be updated from time to time!
