ARK: Survival Evolved isn't showing signs of slowing down with another update released today, celebrating New Years. They seem to be sticking to regular dinosaur—and some not-so-dinosaur—additions, teaching me that I really don't know my dinosaurs in the process. Today's addition is the Procoptodon, "essentially a giant prehistoric kangaroo." It can carry two riders—one on its back and one in its pouch—which is "a first for ARK creatures." It has great speed and the ability to jump over obstacles more easily than other mounts. The rider in the pouch can even make use of "all weaponry."

Studio Wildcard wants you to ring in the new year with them. From 12 PM EST to midnight EST today, a New Year's Eve ball will descend into ARK's world. A "fantastic surprise" will be unveiled for all players that are logged in when it hits the ground.

TechWars Online Looks To Bring Tactical Strategy Into An MMO Setting

TechWars Online is looking to do something that, at first glance, looks quite similar to MechWarrior Tactics. It is bringing turn-based, tactical mech combat to an online, free-to-play setting. The tactical part of the game takes place on a hex-based grid. Simple commands are used for attacking with your mech's various weapons or moving around.

But there's more to it. From the description on the Greenlight page, it sounds as if it has a persistent, Heroes and Generals-esque campaign map where a war plays out across multiple simultaneous battles between two different factions. Players will also be able to take part in tournaments that will offer "real" prizes.

Crowfall's Hunger Dome Testing Resumes January 6th

The 2015 calendar year is ending today and, with it, Crowfall's 2015 pledge packages will be leaving. What this means is that, starting tomorrow, new backers will be required to pay approximately $9 more and/or receive less VIP subscription time. This isn't a massive change, but considering the price of the packages that can get you into the game the fastest, every little bit makes it that much less appealing to most of us.

Fortunately, should you decide to grab a pledge package before they're revised tonight, you won't be waiting long to play. Two two-hour tests are scheduled for January 6th and January 7th at 12 PM to 2 PM CST on the USA West server, 9 AM to 11 AM CST on the EU Server, and 8 PM to 10 PM CST on the Singapore server. They aren't sure yet if the client controller will be in this test, but "the fully textured keep and buildings" will be. "More tests and more functionality" are planned to be added throughout January.

Mabinogi: Duel is a free to play collectible card game (CCG) developed and published by Nexon based on the Mabinogi franchise. The game is available exclusively on mobile (iOS and Android) and aims to compete with titles like Hearthstone, Million Arthur, Magic Duels: Origins, and Grand Sphere. The game features a story driven single player experience with some solid voice overs. In the video above I played through the tutorial and some of the early missions. It seems like every game studio is trying to cash in on Hearthstone's success with mobile CCGs.
