Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade Closed Alpha Begins September 14th

Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade founders won't have to wait much longer. A newsletter that went out today announced that those who have bought in at the $120 Captain tier or higher will gain access to the Warhammer MMOFPS' closed alpha, starting on September 14th. Maybe. Access to the game will begin in the 100s, meaning there are more than 100s of people that have bought in at that tier or higher. The plan is to have everyone at that tier or higher in by October.eternalcrusade

As for what's in this alpha, you won't be getting much at first. As an MMOFPS, the team want to focus on the "shooter" part first. As the newsletter says "The persistent world, meta-game, continent, territories, theater of war, campaigns, character progression, thousands of items, customized loadouts, visual personalization, more game modes, commanders, PVE and other MMO aspects, as well as the last factions will gradually be added to the Closed Alpha and well into Beta." So not much of what makes it unique is there yet. Instead, it will be a match-based shooter with various modes taking place on a variety of the game's outpost and fortress maps while the team works on getting the rest added in.

As expected, this closed alpha will be under a strict NDA. Those who take part are not allowed to talk about what the alpha consists of. The team hope to lift the NDA as soon possible, but you know how these things go.
