Overwatch Will Not Be Free-To-Play

Surprisingly, Blizzard has announced that their zany fast-paced team shooter Overwatch will not be adopting a free-to-play model. Given the success of Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone a f2p model seemed inevitable. But Blizzard is choosing a different route, and I don't think anyone at MMOs.com expected them to to take it. The vanilla version will sell for $40 and include all of the characters and maps.
But more expensive editions will be releasing, of course. Splurging $60 will unlock extra character skins. And truly zealous players will be able to purchase a collector's edition bundled with the game's soundtrack and an art book.
Eager players can pre-purchase Overwatch now by visiting the game's site.
