Following last month's short alpha phase, Black Desert Online NA/EU will begin its first Closed Beta phase on December 16th at 7 AM UTC. It will run until December 22nd at 7 AM UTC, giving players just under a week to play the game again. This Beta phase marks the first time the Tamer class will be introduced. A short teaser of the class' abilities is embedded below.

Community feedback from the Alpha helped to shape the Beta build and many improvements were made. Character customization includes 30 new skin tones, 40 new hair colors, new beards, and the option to make a male character bald. Class balance and weather cycles have been tweaked. Darker, stormier nights may now require a lantern. New features, such as the "walking mode," have been implemented. HP potions have been tweaked to make PvP more challenging. The game text is now fully localized into English. The level cap for this test will be set at 50.99% and leveling will be much slower than the Korean release.
