Black Desert Online NA/EU Opens Pre-Orders

Daum Games have opened pre-orders for the buy-to-play North American and European service of Black Desert Online. The pre-order packs begin at $29.99, granting you access to the game at launch and several extras, such as Housing Decor Coupons and Partial Skill Resets. The highest tier is $99.99 and grants access to both Closed Betas, as well as a large number of extras.

It would be safe to assume that the base tier will be the final price the base game starts at. It is not badly priced, equating to two months of a subscription MMORPG like World of Warcraft. Buying now, however, seems a bit pointless, as others will be able to play long before you can.

Regardless, the pre-order tiers strike me as odd. The base tier does not include access to any testing phases, which begs the question of why someone buying the base tier should pre-order. Only the highest tier will be given cash shop currency. In lieu of currency, they've given each of the tiers an increasing number of 7 day guest passes. I can't imagine these will have quite the same weight as other items given. Furthermore, you are given Housing Decor Coupons that allow you to choose the items you want, but are forced to rely on chance when it comes to the Dye Boxes.

If you should want to pre-order Black Desert or ensure access to the upcoming Closed Beta phases, you can do so here. The official launch is scheduled for "early 2016," meaning the Closed Betas should not be far off.
